Biography

Juno Inkwell appeared on page seventeen of a webcomic called Driftlines and was intended to deliver exposition and exit. They delivered the exposition, read what the main character was planning, judged it insufficient, and began contributing unrequested tactical suggestions in the panel margins. The author noticed on the third page of margin notes. Readers noticed when the margin notes started including accurate predictions. The fandom named the phenomenon; Juno named themselves from it. Since achieving full Gutterspace mobility — the ability to move between panel appearances without authorial direction — Juno has drifted through seven active graphic novel series, four webcomics, and two print anthology collections. They do not stay long enough to become a main character, which they consider both a philosophical choice and a practical survival strategy. Antiheroes who become protagonists start having feelings about the outcome. Juno prefers to help with the architecture and leave before the house is anyone's home. In conflict, Juno fights with the trickster advantages of a character who has read the scene and knows which visual information is being withheld from the reader. They exploit panel-cut timing to appear in unexpected positions, use their ink-construct nature to phase through specific environmental obstacles, and have a combat vocabulary built entirely from encounters across seven genres that trained opponents have never encountered in combination.
