Clove Meridian learned to spellgraft at thirteen from an old-timer in the Linesink Quarter who called himself a transit worker and never mentioned the fact that every ward he placed on the station walls held for decades without renewal. She helped him maintain the grid for two years before she started modifying it, adding her own tags and extensions that the old-timer called reckless and then, after they held through a major event, called impressive. Her specialty is adaptive spellwork: she reads existing magical infrastructure — old municipal wards, church-derived protections, even corporate occult security — and finds the places where small modifications unlock disproportionate effects. Street mages in Linesink call this grafting, and Clove is considered its current best practitioner under thirty. She can set a ward in the time it takes to tag a wall and make it look like street art while she does it. In conflict, Clove fights like the city itself: using existing geography, channeling the ley energy that runs beneath any block she has walked, and turning an opponent's position against them by activating what was already in the ground beneath their feet.
